Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Skyline Hospital has expanded its services to the community to include MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). The new service will start on August 14, 2008.
“This new MRI service strengthens our commitment to providing the most advanced patient care with cost effective technology” says Mike Madden, Skyline Hospital Administrator.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technology combines a powerful magnet, radiowaves and a computer to produce high quality images that assist doctors in assessing a patient’s condition. It differs from both x-ray and CT because it uses radio waves to
pass through the body. This allows exceptional pictures showing soft body tissue in great detail. There are no known side effects and the unit uses no harmful radiation. Nearly any body part may be evaluated from nearly any angle.
“We are pleased to be able to offer MR Imaging here at Skyline Hospital. Both our patients and physicians will benefit by having the service here on our campus. The system allows us to provide the best images available which aids physicians in their effort to provide the best diagnosis possible based on the additional information the MRI scan provides.” says Mike Madden, Skyline Administrator.
