 Skyline Hospital’s new Family Birthing Center is the gorge’s most coveted retreat for complete childbirth care. At Skyline, you'll receive the area's best childbirth care, close to home. We have three private labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum rooms (LDRP rooms), which foster a relaxing and healing environment for your complete delivery to recovery. And with only three state-of-the-art rooms, you can be assured you’ll get the attention you deserve.
You will be treated to the best rooms in the gorge with far-reaching views of the gorge, flat-screen HD TVs, a laptop (for your use) with Wi-Fi, CD or MP3 player connection for your music choices, and a private bathroom with an air-jetted tub to relax in during labor. Upon check-in you’ll be assigned a skilled OB nurse who provides convenient, well-rounded, and attentive care throughout your stay.
At Skyline’s Family Birthing Center, you’ll receive:
- One-on-one nursing care.
- Visitors anytime you want.
- Congratulatory dinner for you and yours (plus complimentary meals for you and yours while in labor).
- Day bed for dad (or significant other).
- Access to expert surgeons if necessary.
- Use of our nursery, but only if you want.
- Free first photos of your baby uploaded to our web nursery.

- Free childbirth classes (around your 5th or 6th month of pregnancy).
- Pre-registration before you go into labor by contacting our OB department at 509.493.1101.

- Lactation assistance as needed.
- Car seat safety education and inspection.
- Follow-up nursing services to assist you in your transition to home.
