Record Number of Students Show up for Skyline’s Free Sports Screening
WHITE SALMON, WA: Over 70 students showed up to take advantage of the free sports physical offered at Skyline’s Physical Therapy department last week. “We’re proud to say that the number of students who participated in this year’s screening was almost twice that of previous years” says Dave Wiltsie, director of physical therapy at Skyline. Seven Skyline Hospital employees and five Mid-Columbia Family Health Center physicians and staff donated a total of over 25 hours for free sports screenings for student athletes from Washington and Oregon.
“Skyline’s service was very much appreciated,” says Janet McCutcheon, vice president of Columbia High School. “The beginning of the year can be so costly for families because students need to pay for their sport users’ fee, their ASB cards, and not to mention all the other back-to-school start-up costs.”
Skyline thanks Mid-Columbia Family Health Center physicians and staff—Chris Samuels, MD, Joe Rinella, DO, Alicia Gimenez, MD, Steve Koontz, PA, and Jill Devore—for joining forces with them to fill this need for families in the gorge. Thanks in addition go to Dave Wiltsie MSPT, SCS, Theresa Perry PTA, NCSA-CPT, Bree Hoomans DPT, CSCS, Cesar Guzman, and Kathy Robinson of Skyline’s physical therapy department along with Donna Clack, RN, and Rita Stephenson in Skyline’s patient services.
