Magnetic Resonance Imaging
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technology combines a powerful magnet, radiowaves and a computer to produce high quality images that assist doctors in assessing a patient’s condition. It differs from both x-ray and CT because it uses radio waves to pass through the body. This allows exceptional pictures showing soft body tissue in great detail. There are no known side effects and the unit uses no harmful radiation. Nearly any body part may be evaluated from nearly any angle.
“Our MRI service strengthens our commitment to providing the most advanced patient care with cost effective technology” says Mike Madden, Skyline Hospital Administrator.
The system allows us to provide the best images available which aids physicians in their effort to provide the best diagnosis possible based on the additional information the MRI scan provides.
